Absolutely loved out stay here. We\'d never done anything like this before but can honestly say we will be back! we stayed in a pod which was fun & cosy. I did forget our suitcase so the first night was absolutely freezing, but after going into one of the towns about 15 minute drive away and managed to find enough clothes for our stay. Apart from our own little mishap this was a wonderful little break and couldn't fault the site, staff or experience at all. Thank you for making our beak a holiday

Me and my other half spent a fantastic 3 days at The Quiet Site. We stayed in a pod which was really clean and spacious. The facilities on the site were very good from a cosy and hospitable bar to very clean shower and toilet blocks. The staff were all friendly and chatty when you bumped into them around the site. Fantastic few days away and can not wait until we come back!!

Dear Staff at The Quiet Site, We just wanted to thank you for a fantastic 3 Night Stay in one of your Pods over New Years. I am a first time 'glamper/camper' and the whole of experience of staying in one of your pods has eased me into the idea of going on lots of camping ventures this year - definitely a return to The Quiet Site - we have already suggested this to other members of our family! Staff - Right from checking in we received a high level of customer service and all staff we approached were very happy to help us - I cannot name any individuals - they were all great! Cleanliness - Toilets and Showers were my main concern about going camping but I was pleasantly surprised about how clean and well stocked both of these facilities were - I would go as far as saying they are at the same standard as my local gym. Hot water was always available which certainly helped after the wet and windy days! Facilities - Although we didn't use the kitchen and laundry area these were easily accessible. The shop was well stocked and good value for money - we forgot to pack lots of things but the shop had everything we needed We absolutely loved the bar area! Completely my type of place to have a nice drink - great atmosphere, fantastic entertainment - we saw Fiona on the 30th and The Magician on the 1st who was fantastic. Pods - Spacious, warm and cosy! We were provided with 2 radiators which was perfect for the cold nights. There was also a blind for added privacy, a lockable door, pegs to hang clothing and a spacious decking to sit and cook on. We were also able to park right behind our pod. Location - We love the Ullswater area and as it was our 2nd time in this part of the Lakes we decided to go on the 8 mile walk to and from the Aira Force Waterfalls - physically challenging for someone that doesn't walk anywhere but completely worth it! The campsite is also dog friendly - and although we seemed to be the only couple without a dog we now want one! Thanks again and see you sometime soon! Rachel and Mark

We booked a camping pod for our 3 night stay during October half term. The pods are brilliant! Plenty of space inside and out. The much needed heater was a great addition. The site is well maintained, lovely shower block and covered wash up area. The provision of a communal fridge/freezer/microwave was a big plus. The bar is unique and a great place to relax at the end of the day. The Quiet Site definitely lives up to its reputation. I will be returning soon.

I LOVE this site! We stayed here for 5 (very wet and rainy) nights as part of our touring holiday. I had read about this site so many times I just had to try and I wasn't disappointed. Ullswater is a fabulous location and we had a lovely view from our pitch. It was out first time pitching on pea gravel and I have to say it was fantastic given the rainy weather we experienced! The toilet block was warm, clean and certainly big enough. There is a covered 'campers kitchen' where you can use the fridge and freezer plus a microwave if you wish. I think there was a also a kettle. The absolute god-send though is the fantastic bar with it's game room, soft play and welcoming open fire. They sell some lovely real ales in here and on the Sat night we were treated to boogie woogie Will on the piano whilst Sunday night we were entertained with card tricks at the table by a lovely young magician. Some sheep escaped into the field on our last day there which was memorable! I certainly can't say enough good things about this site; the kids loved it, the father in law loved it, me and my partner loved it! Happy campers all round and can't wait to go back again.

Just back from a great week's stay at The Quiet Site. We first came 25 yrs ago as a group of sixth formers & it was lovely to return with partners & families. The kids loved the play area & the adults loved the fact that time appears to have stood still in the bar! We appreciated the fact that you sited all 4 families on adjacent pitches...despite us having 3 tents & a caravan. Thank you. We hope to return...hopefully sooner than 25 years this time!

Went to the Quiet site on Saturday night camping with our ten year old son. what a delight and a lovely spot. The facilities are great lovely and clean plenty of spaces for washing, laundry, showering even a bath (with loads of hot water). The staff are cheerful, helpful and enthusiatic. Lovely little shop. Dont worry about choosing a spot they are all just as nice as each other. A small park area for the kids with climbing frame my son made friend instantly. Definately returning and reccomend. Enjoy.

Just got back home after our first ever stay in a camping pod. I'm really glad we chose the Quiet Site as the pods were fantastic. We were not overlooked too much, the facilities were top notch and the view in the morning was amazing. It was really nice having a heater and light and a spare plug to charge my phone up. The bar was also a nice treat to come back to after a day of walking, with the open fire crackling away. Looking into booking our next trip. Thank you for a great stay!!

Well what can i say -- Ive just returned from a week travelling around Scotland, England & Wales. I would say that the only place that i stayed & was perfect was at The Quite Site. It is indeed the very best campsite i have ever stayed in including Europe. Why cant this country follow by example. The staff including the two french students, who actually live around the corner from my brother in Nice, coul'nt do enough & so friendly. They deserve every award there is & i would never hesitate to go back. Well done & keep it up. Regards Ken.

Just got back from a week at The Quiet Site . It was very wet & windy but we still managed to fit in 2 of the walks from the site, the views were outstanding. The site is well kept and the facilities are clean & tidy. The Quiet Bar was a great place to end a day. We are looking forward to the next visit, I would like to thank all the staff for making my stay a wicked one!!

What a wonderful way to spend a few days! Thanks again to Daniel and family, and especially Parul and Mick. As usual, the Quiet Site was perfect in every way. It's a magical place all the year round, apart from the weather at times! The atmosphere in the Quiet Site bar was great. Really enjoyed the live music treat on New Year's Eve and thanks to Parul, Mick and Mark for working so hard. They make everyone feel so welcome. We are really looking forward to our next stay. We have been visiting for about 28 years, and The Quiet Site just gets better!THANKS!!

Just a word to say we have returned from another lovely short, but well needed break in our tourer at the quite site. As usual we had some rain during the night but the days were glorious and filled with some sight seeing and a little walking but mainly we enjoyed lazing around our van. while there we spotted, hedgehogs, rabbits and many birds as well as our first sighting of a red squirrel. many thanks as always to parul and mick for all thier hard work and most importantly thier great kindness and friendlness. its a pleasure to keep returning, as its like seeing old friends. deepest regards and love The worsfolds

Recently had a 6 day break, we had a few days of rain but our stay was very enjoyable. We had the most beautiful view of Ullswater. The facilities at the site are brilliant and very well equiped. The local pub serves great meals at a good price - it was also great to go there when we'd spent a day in the tent due to heavy rain as they have an open fire. Would definelty recommend this site to friends and family.

We have stayed at the Caravan Club Site at Troutbeck Head over the last 10 years and always been happy with the location and facilities. However, in Easter this year we stayed in one of the Camping Pods at the Quiet Site and they were excellent, even in the cold weather. The availability of a mircowave, fridge and freezer is also invaluable when camping in a tent or pod. We were so impressed with the people we met (Staff are very friendly and helpful) and the facilities, including the lovely bar with it's log fire that we booked for 2 weeks in the summer, staying in our Campervan. We have just returned from our 4th week of the year during the Scottish School's Autumn break. My only very slight criticism on this occasion was that the bar and shop were poorly stocked on certain days but accept the time of year to be a factor. I would however recommend the Quiet Site 100% and we will never go anywhere else now in the Lakes. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

I spent Two nights in one of the camping pods, with my 9 yr old boy, my Brother and his 9 yr old boy....we had plenty of room and have not one bad comment to make what so ever....The site facilities were excellent, everything you need, great showers, and every were was really clean...the site pub is really nice with a massive roaring log fire... Even though we only spent two days here, it was a lovely two days...i only wished we stayed longer...it even rained for the two days but it didn't ruin nothing! The people that run the camp are also very very helpful...! i give it 10/10, and i cant wait for my next visit hopefully in october..! a big thank you to the Quiet Site...!

We spent a week at the site in the 1st week of the school holidays. All I can say is this IS the place to stay. We had a look a other sites near-by, but they were not as nice. The staff were very helpfull and friendly, the facilities were spot on and clean, best of all the bar serves a good pint! If we return to the lakes we will only stay at the Quiet site. Thanks, Jon & Mel. North Wales.

just returned from the quiet site after a week there. only 1 thing stopped me giving it 10 stars and that was the showers, showers themselves are great but as there is no shower curtain your clothes get wet as the showers are so powerful when it hits you it bounces all over the cubible. On the plus side there's proper baths so that was'nt a problem after 1st night as just used the bath instead. Everything else is top notch and it was great having a couple of visiting hedgehogs returnin night after night to say hello and try n grab some food.

While i'm writing this we're still at the Q-site. This must be by far out the cleanest site we've ever seen. The staf doing their last "is everything clean and oke check" at the facilities at 11.30pm (!). The staf being patience for a couple of dutchies that can't make up their mind where to park their caravan. Willing to help en alway's polite. Nice walks that start at the campsite. The first night we couldn't believe our ears, just some buzzards and owls seaching for a "snack" and a sheep that is afraid in the dark..... It's for sure the quiet site. Wish we could stay a little longer than the ten night we have planned. If you want to be in the middle of the Lake District's nature, check out this clean and quiet campsite.

We recently returned from a three day break in a camping pod at The Quiet Site, and we're already planning to return :-) On arrival, we were shown to our pod by one of the very friendly staff, and shown where to find all the facilities etc. The site had everything we needed during our stay including free hot water washing up sinks, and freezers for ice packs. The shower blocks were well maintained and clean, and I was glad to find that the ladies' had free hairdryers and a plug socket. We stayed in Pod 3, and were able to park our car about 20 feet away. The pods are very cosy, and had plenty of room for a double airbed and all our stuff (and we had a LOT of stuff). There were hooks inside and outside the pod - handy for hanging up waterproofs. Although there is a small heater in the pod, we would advise taking extra blankets as we stayed at the end of June and were both very cold during the night. Aside from that, the pod was perfect for us. All the good points of camping without the faff of a tent. We absolutely loved the little on site pub. With its warm log fire, friendly staff and almost medieval decor, it was a great place to enjoy a quiet drink and laugh about a long day of walking and getting lost (very lost) in the most beautiful place in England - the pool table was an added bonus too. The only bad point of our stay was that restaurants in the area are quite limited with the site being in a remote area, so be prepared to do a bit of driving to get to most places. This wasn't a fault with the site though - it is called The Quiet Site for a reason :-). Finally, we must say that before arriving, we were worried that we might be stereotyped as a couple of loud, rowdy students...but we felt very welcomed as a quiet young couple. Thank you very much TQS - we'll definitely be back. (sorry for the essay - but we can't praise this site enough).

This was our first time camping, three children, two adults and two dogs......torrential rain gale force winds-very scary-We cannot praise the site enough. Excellent showers/toilets, washing facilities were better than at home!! The staff were very helpful even offered to extend leaving so we could dry out our soggy tent. Will definitely be back, hopefully in better weather. Thanks to the pianist, in the Quiet bar ,who played a tune for our Ridgebacks. A very special thanks to the very kind couple who helped in dismantling our tent in the pouring rain, We hope you dried out quickly and had better weather for the rest of your stay!!

We have just came back from staying in Ivy Cottage and had a fantastic time when we arrived there the children were straight into the back garden where there is a fantastic trampoline and playhouse and plenty of room to run around. The cottage was lovely and clean the rooms were lovely and staff were friendly.

Stayed here many times camping and occasionally in the cottages. This is by far the best campsite I have stayed at and there have been many. Well looked after and managed by friendly staff. A great bar that dates back to the 18th century I believe, has a really good atmosphere inside with an open fire to gather round. The wash facilities have always been very well maintained and clean, they have just been refurbished so are in brandspanking condition right now. Its great to have under-floor heating aswell. The added bonus of a little shop on site with essentials mean you dont have to go far to get something simple. The Cottages to rent are great aswell, on special occasions we have rented both cottages for the family and they are beautiful inside and have everything you could possibly need. A home away from home. The other good thing about this site is its location, away from the hustle and bustle of Windermere and keswick but not to far and some great driving roads to get there, like the kirkstone pass. Also Ullswater lake has to be the most pituresque lake in the national park. I think everybody looking to camp or rent a cottage in the Lake district should stay here, you wont be disappointed.

Wonderful park in truly beautiful scenery. Well kept, always clean loos, log fire to enjoy in the Bar. Being given a later leaving time with our 'van enabled us to enjoy another walk. Best of all after a 6 hour journey to the top and bottom of Hevellyn .....a hot deep bath!We cannot stress how much it made feel better and soothed our aching legs. Limited night lighting means star gazing also can be enjoyed, indeed one of our favourite sites, great that they accept Camping Cheques too.

Just got home from spending 2 weeks at the quiet site following our wedding at gretna green, the site was fantastic for views and nearby walks. The toilet facilities were spotless and the family bathrooms made the kids very happy, we had a fantastic time at ullswater with plenty to keep us occupied.

Just returned from a mini camping break in Ullswater - argueably one of the most spectacular places you may have the pleasure to visit. We were also very lucky in our choice of campsite, The Quiet Site. A fantastic place for families to take thier kids and not worry about late night noise, to have the facilities of a fridge, freezer and microwave to use which were kept very clean was a real bonus. The showers were always clean and tidy and the staff very helpful. The kids adverture park kept our boys entertained for hours and most of all a good nights sleep was had by all. The bar and games room are the icing on the cake, roaring log fire and plenty to ensure the kids had fun too. We have fallen in love with Ullswater and The Quiet Site will definitely return as soon as possible.

Further to my recent comment my respected other half read it and said I have not given the site enough credit,to which I agree!! All the staff are so friendly and recognise you on your return. The facilities are brill, you couldn't ask for more, freezer, microwave(for that fri nite curry in the tent!)nice clean hot showers, superb old fashioned bar with a roaring log fire for those chilly nights and conversation. My highlight is that this really is the Quiet site,no noise after 11 and nobody is early to rise so you really can have a lie in (bliss) open your tent or whatever you're staying in,take in that crisp clean air and soak in the view of Ullswater and it's glorious surroundings. We where there for a week in May and have booked again for Mid summer!

Love this friendly campsite, great facilities, space for children to play, lovely location, and a cosy bar for wet evenings. Can't wait to try a pod this year.
