About Us

The Quiet Site is a family run, Award Winning,  Carbon Neutral Holiday Park set amongst the stunning fells that overlook Ullswater in the heart of the Lake District.

Choosing to book with us is choosing to invest in a company that prioritises People and Planet over Profits, safe in the knowledge that we rated in the top 1% of UK holiday parks.

Sustainability has been at heart of everything we do.  We are the only holiday park to have been awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise.  We also hold a Green Tourism Gold Award.  But don’t worry, being one of the greenest holiday parks in the UK doesn’t mean we compromise on quality. We are the AA Holiday Park of the Year for the whole UK winner (2024) and VisitEngland Holiday Park of the Year winner (2023). 

We have won numerous Awards over the years, but, the greatest reward we receive is seeing our guests returning time and time again.  84% of our guests have either stayed with us before or been recommended to us.

We are ideally located,  just 10 minutes from the M6 but in the heart of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria.  We are positioned right on the Ullswater Way – a 20 mile circular walk around England’s most beautiful lake.  World Class attractions just a few minutes from The Quiet Site include Aira Force waterfalls (superb circular walk from us),  Ullswater Steamers and Lowther Castle. England’s most popular mountain, Helvellyn, is just a few minutes drive from us.

  • Lovely large Zero waste shop. Please note we do not sell bottled water, but you can refill your water containers with free, chilled and filtered water in our Campers Kitchen and at The Quiet Bite.

  • Individual private rooms with shower, WC and wash basin which use Solar, Biomass and Ground Source heat energy, no fossil fuels are used.
