The Quiet Site is an Award Winning, Carbon Neutral Holiday Park set amongst the stunning fells that overlook Ullswater in the heart of the Lake District.

Sustainability has been at heart of everything we have done for the last two decades. In 2020 we won a Queens Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development – indeed we are the first ever holiday park in the UK to receive this award. We also have a Green Tourism Gold Award. But don’t worry, being one of the greenest holiday parks in the UK doesn’t compromise our quality.

We have won numerous Awards over the years but the greatest reward we receive is seeing out guests returning time and time again.

We are ideally located, just 10 minutes from the M6 but in the heart of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria. We are positioned right on the Ullswater Way – a 20 mile circular walk around England’s most beautiful lake. World Class attractions just a few minutes from The Quiet Site include Aira Force waterfalls (superb circular walk from us), Ullswater Steamers and Lowther Castle. England’s most popular mountain, Helvellyn, is just a few minutes drive from us.

It’s not surprising that 80% of our visitors have stayed with us before or have been personally recommended to us.

A playfield with earth mounds, tunnels, trees and a need for an imagination. Please note this is not adventure playground and we do not operate swings, slides etc. This field closes at 9pm.

Meeting room available to guests with AV equipment. Free use to guests who need access to normal office equipment or who need to take Zoom/Teams meeting.

Individual private rooms with shower, WC and wash basin which use Solar, Biomass and Ground Source heat energy, no fossil fuels are used.
