Lovely stay here. We stayed in the hobbit hole for 2 nights and its clean and warm inside. They give you some walks on... arrival and we did the 8 mile one - it was a killer but stunning views! Only downside was the bed was quite uncomfortable so both me and my partner had sore backs in the morning! Otherwise, loved the place! Would go back.read more

Stayed in a hobbit house. Lovely and comfy . Big mattress for sleeping . Own toilet and wash basin, small fridge,... kettle and microwave. A couple of deck chairs outside under cover and your own picnic table. View fantastic. Was a positive experience. Forgot to mention the store . Camping kitchen and showers plus 2 baths and a lovely pub only open in evenings but top marks 10 out of 10 for our lovely barman. He was the best. You would have to be really picky if you don't enjoy this site.read more

Spend our first New Year at The Quiet Site after numerous summer visits over the years. As usual the facilities are... excellent with significant investment in many environmentally friendly upgrades to the park. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Great atmosphere in the on site bar particularly on New Year's Eve. Will definitely return and always recommend to friends and familyread more

Just on our way home from the most amazing weekend staying in a glamping pod. We loved every minute of it. The staff... when checking in are friendly and inviting and the pod itself outdid our expectations. They have thought of every detail to give you a luxury camping experience and it's all done to such a high standard. You really feel like you are in a little haven, with plenty of privacy. The chocolates and fizz on arrival went down well too! Can't wait to go back!!read more

To start with you’re greeted in the Shop with a lovely compassionate member of staff, they explain everything, hand... out a park map and even a hand drawn map of all local walks, from 2 miles up to 10. You’re escorted to your pitch and shown the amenities there, especially if you’re on a Fully Serviced Pitch. Toilets and Shower Blocks are always within a 5 minute walk and the best thing is that they’re free. No 50p for 5 minute malarky, you also have free access to the family bathroom with lovely sized baths! We love the new waste-free shop. Fresh Milk, Orange Juice, bread and even Croissants each morning. Followed by snack and confectionary items that you can select and weigh yourself, along with local delicacies. From the shop we purchased The Quite Site bag and water bottle which they will fill up with a soft drink of your choice. Staff members are always on hand no matter the time of day, you also can email them with any questions and they’re bound to sort it out as soon as required. Daniel the Owner/Manager is a great asset to The Quiet Site Team. Always friendly and ensuring that you’re holiday is running smoothly. For campers there is a Campers Kitchen, with Fridges, Freezers, Microwave and Kettles. Also a hot drink machine for teas and coffees. This is a great place to chill out if the weather isn’t the best or if you’re needing somewhere to store your food, with a rustic wood feel and underfloor hearing you’re never uncomfortable. Drinks from The Quiet Bar are cheap, lovely and chilled. Lovely place to spend the evening during a thunderstorm, relaxed environment with live shows, we experience Magic with Lewis which was a good laugh. There are a large variety of Fully Serviced Pitches, some out the way, bit more secluded if you’re wanting peace, and others overlooking the play park with incredible views. We can’t wait to be back in October. Only issue we had is pitching the awning in on the gravel pitches. It rained over night and that sorted it right out! It has taken us a while to get around to write this review as it has been 4 weeks since we left the site and are missing every moment.read more

Lovely little camp site, we stayed in one of the Hobbit Holes and it was amazing. It's aptly named "The Quiet Site"... because you will never experience peace and quiet like it, the whole stay was bliss. The Hobbit Hole was very clean, spacious, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. We had a very nice view down towards Ullswater from the picnic bench outside our Hobbit Hole, it was a lovely place to sit and enjoy a coffee. There is a little bar on site which was very nice, especially the fire. The bartender was very friendly and very helpful. You are close to Aira Force which is worth a visit and if anyone is looking for a decent pub to get a bite to eat The Brackenrigg is just down the road. We got our stay as part of a Virgin Experience so saved a lot of money but would gladly pay the full amount when we go back, worth every penny. Would definitely recommend.read more

Didn't actually stay here, but we will! The staff were very friendly the facilities looked really good, the site itself... looked great with fairly level terraced pitches. The icing on the cake are the views over Ullswater from some of the pitches and the fact it's adult only, open all year & the cherry on top.... it's got a bar on site!read more

Great place for a few day's camping. The Quiet Site is in a lovely position and we spent a couple of days walking... here. It is fantastic that they have a shop for essentials and a bar. The facilities are kept clean. The heating in the facilities in winter is very much appreciated. I would have welcomed warmer showers, they were a little lukewarm.read more

Lovely dog friendly site. The staff are all nice and helpful. Love sitting in the bar, that sell a good range and the... barman is so lovely. You can sometimes struggle to get a table as it does get busy, but it's a really good atmosphere and child friendly. The facilities are probably the best site facilities I have ever seen, with baths and family shower rooms also available. Also noticed a dog washing station on our last visit which will definitely come in handy in the future.read more

We spent 5 nights at the Quite Site and loved every minute of it! We were very lucky as the weather was hot and... sunny. We had a pitch at the top of the site on a terrace overlooking the whole campsite and over to Ullswater! The pitch size is really good and there is a children’s play area at the bottom of the site. It has easy access and you can park your car close to your tent. There is a small shop open during the day and has essential in there to buy as well as a good selection of meats and other foods, you can even charge our phone in there for a pound! If you want more or a supermarket the closest one is only 3 miles away and is open till 10pm. There is a covered 'campers kitchen' where you can use the fridge and freezer plus a microwave. There is a recommended board with suggested places to eat and explore whilst you are visiting. On check in they also give you 4 popular walks to do from which you can walk out from the site. The site is extremely clean with lots of shower facilities and 2 baths. I believe these has just been refurbished so everything is new. There is a small cosy bar on site which is open 7pm-11pm and has entertainment in most evenings and reasonable selection of drinks at good prices. There is also a pub at the bottom of the hill if you fancy some pub grub and a local ale. You can rent out tepees, caravans and little wooden lodges as well as brining your own tent. This is one of the best campsites we’ve been to with great facilities and a cracking view of Ullswater. We will defiantly be back next year! read more
