Camping Pods

Our Camping Pods at The Quiet Site are timber built, insulated huts and are designed to be used just like a tent.  However, unlike a tent, they’re completely ready for you to move into when you arrive on our small holiday park.  With no tent to erect or pack away in the rain, your holiday has just become a lot less stressful!

Our Pods are manufactured for us, in Cumbria, by a small firm in the South Lakes.  They are the inspiration of a man known only as Ian.  (Some say he has a slightly pointy head!)  Each Camping Pod has plenty of headroom and a floor area of 2.3 metres by 2.7 metres – ample space for 2 people or even 2 adults and 2 very small children.

Camping Pods are designed to accommodate the variable British weather with ample ventilation for the hot days and lamb’s wool insulation for those chillier times of year.  They are very much a wooden ‘tent’ for all seasons.  An added advantage is the higher level of security you get from a lockable Camping Pod over a canvas tent.

If you’ve never camped before, they’re a great starter option before you invest in your own tent.  Or, if you prefer something more luxurious, have a look at our range of Glamping Cabins, Gingerbread Houses and Glamping Burrows.

A unique camping experience

At The Quiet Site, our Camping Pods are a simple progression from a holiday under canvas.  They offer a convenient alternative to the tent but retain all the ambiance of a proper ‘camping holiday’.

What should I bring to stay in a Camping Pod?

All you need to bring is your camping gear – minus the tent.  Your Camping Pod will be completely empty on arrival but each comes equipped with a carpeted floor, heater and a light wood interior.  There’s even a small power socket for charging your phone and a light.  Those staying in a Camping Pod can take advantage of all our other site facilities, including The Quiet Bar and The Quiet Bite, as well as our Camper’s Kitchen and gorgeous individual bathrooms.

Do remember to bring your camping mats or air beds, sleeping bags and camping chairs, plus any crockery or cutlery for your stay.

Can I bring my dog to stay in the Camping Pods?

We do have some dog friendly Camping Pods.  Please specify that you are bringing a dog at the time of booking.

What does it cost to stay in a Camping Pod at The Quiet Site?

Camping Pod stays offer great value.  One night stays are available and cost from £40 per pod per night up to £75 per pod per night depending on the time of year.

Please note: Group bookings of up to two families/couples are only accepted after contacting the office. We reserve the right to decline a booking or charge a noise deposit.
