Camping and Touring Pitches at The Quiet Site

The Quiet Site is situated between Little Mell Fell and Ullswater. The views have a real alpine feel: look west at Helvellyn, England’s favourite mountain,  east for the Pennines and south over Ullswater for Barton, Hallin and Place Fells.

We have two types of camping and touring pitches at The Quiet Site:

  • All-weather fully serviced pitches for caravans, tents, trailer tents and motorhomes (They come in both Large and Standard size pitches)
  • All-weather electric pitches for smaller tents, roof tents, small motorcaravans or VWs (These come only as Standard size pitches)

Our Camping and touring fields also accommodate our Glamping Cabins,  Glamping Burrows, Gingerbread Houses and Camping Pods.

All pitches have 10KWh of electric included in the pitch fee for each 24-hour period.   Excess electric used is charged at 30p/KWh.

Rock pegs may be required and can be purchased or borrowed in our Zero Waste Shop.

All our pitches have lovely views over the fells that surround us. Some pitches have lake views.

Fully Serviced pitches for caravans, Tents and motorhomes

Large-sized pitches accommodate:

Touring Caravans up to 6-8 meters
Motorhomes up to 6-8 meters
Tents and Trailer Tents up to 6 meters

Standard-sized pitches accommodate:

Tents up to  5 meters
Roof Tents 
VW-sized vans  and micro-tourers up to 6 meters

Electric pitches for Roof Tents, Tents, VW-sized Vans and Small motorhomes. 

 

Our all-weather electric pitches are designed for Small Tents, Small Motorhomes, Roof Tents and VW/VW sized vans.  They have a pea gravel surface which is the perfect antidote to mud, yet the small round pea gravel is also kind to canvas.   If you would like to borrow one of our groundsheets to put down under your tent, please ask at reception.

Electric Pitches accommodate:

Roof Tents 
VW-sized vans  and micro-tourers up to 6 meters


Please not we do not accept gazebos.

Facilities at The Quiet Site

We offer everything you need to enjoy a relaxing camping, touring or glamping holiday in the Lake District.

Guests are welcome to use the fridges, freezers, toaster, kettle and microwave found in our Camper’s Kitchen.  

We have a fabulous Bar and a delicious off-grid takeaway that serves breakfasts, tea, coffee and Wood-Fired Pizzas. Both are open all year. 

Small group bookings of up to two families/couples are only accepted after contacting the office.  We reserve the right to decline a booking or charge a noise deposit.
