Rock pegs may be required and can be purchased or borrowed in our Zero Waste Shop.
Ground Sheets may be purchased or borrowed from our shop if you do not wish to pitch directly onto the pea gravel surface.
All our pitches have lovely views over the fells that surround us. Some pitches have lake views.

The Quiet Site is situated between Little Mell Fell and Ullswater. The views have a real alpine feel: look west at Helvellyn, England’s favourite mountain, east for the Pennines and south over Ullswater for Barton, Hallin and Place Fells.
We have two types of camping and touring pitches at The Quiet Site:
Our Camping and touring fields also accommodate our Glamping Cabins, Glamping Burrows, Gingerbread Houses and Camping Pods.
All pitches have 10KWh of electric included in the pitch fee for each 24-hour period. Excess electricity used is charged at 29p/KWh. Read in the ‘Electric Hookup Guide’ below how to register.
Please note we take a pre-authorisation card payment of £2/night. This is released 7 days from set-up.

Our all-weather electric pitches are designed for Small Tents, Small Motorhomes, Roof Tents and VW/VW sized vans. They have a pea gravel surface which is the perfect antidote to mud, yet the small round pea gravel is also kind to canvas. If you would like to borrow one of our groundsheets to put down under your tent, please ask at reception.

We offer everything you need to enjoy a relaxing camping, touring or glamping holiday in the Lake District.
Guests are welcome to use the fridges, freezers, toaster, kettle and microwave found in our Camper’s Kitchen.
We have a fabulous Bar and a delicious off-grid takeaway that serves breakfasts, tea, coffee and Wood-Fired Pizzas. Both are open all year.
Our facilities are hotel standard and comprise individual rooms with showers, basins, and toilets.
Small group bookings of up to two families/couples are only accepted after contacting the office. We reserve the right to decline a booking or charge a noise deposit.
