Our campsite is dog-friendly. We welcome dogs of all sizes and we have a lovely wild flower meadow that has a path round for the dogs to roam off the lead. We also now have an agreement with our neighbour to use there large field for exercising dogs staying at our site.
On site, dogs MUST be on leads at all times.
Dogs are welcome to stay in tents, caravans, cottages and our dog friendly hobbit holes, Gingerbread House and camping pods. Please make sure when booking Camping Pods, Gingerbread House and Hobbit Holes you choose the dog friendly section.
The Lake District is nature’s playground for people and pooches alike, so bring your four legged friend with you on your camping holiday in the Lakes and explore what we think is one of the best places on earth.
We ask dog owners to please be responsible and consider others at all times. Dogs must never be left on their own. Please do not allow your dog to constantly bark. Failure to observe these rules may result in being asked to leave. We do not accept dangerous breeds or dogs.
From October 2021
While dogs are always welcome here, we have noticed that some of our furry guests are starting to make more noise than they should.
All of our guests value the peace and quiet we offer. The huge majority of our fury guests behave impeccably but this year there has been a growing number who have spoiled things for everyone. We have therefore decided to tweak the rules regarding dogs.
So going forwards, guests with dogs should not arrange to stay with us if any of the following apply:
*Constant barking or prolonged periods of barking (the odd bark is fine – we are talking here about unchecked constant barking)
*Dogs that constantly bark when people/dogs pass their pitch – again we are not talking about the odd bark here but constant barking whenever someone walks past your pitch.
*Dogs that constantly bark in the bar – The odd bark is fine. Constant unchecked barking is not.
*Owners who don’t clean up
*Owners who let their dogs off the lead on site.
*Dogs that are left unattended.
One of the lovely thing about The Quiet Site is that we do not have pages of rules. The mutual respect our guests show each other and show the Quiet Team has always been enough, so we have thought about these new rules long an hard.
Going forwards we are very happy to talk with perspective guests regarding any special requests they may have.
Thank you for your understanding.
