No 3 Ullswater Steamers. Jump off at Howtown and take the gorgeous walk back to Glenridding. Dogs welcome.
No 4 Helvellyn was voted to be the nation’s favourite walk in 2018. While we agree this is a superb day out it only made it to No 4 on the Quiet Sites list..!
No 5 Blencathra A superb high level walk and just 20 mins drive from The Quiet Site.
No 6 Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Ullswater is perfect for this fast growing sport and instruction is available with Ullswater Paddleboarding.
No 7 The Ullswater Way A 22 mile walk around the most beautiful lake in the country. You can tackle it in stages if the full walk isn’t for you.
No 8 Lowther Castle & Gardens. An imposing ruin with an enormous children’s playground, a garden restoration project and lots of lovely cycle paths.
No 9 Open Water Swimming in Ullswater is available just 1.5 miles from us at Ullswater Swim Place.

Fishing on Ullswater is covered by the national rod licence. These can be purchased from any post office.
