We have two types of camping and touring pitches at The Quiet Site:
The Quiet Site is situated between Little Mell Fell and Ullswater. The views have a real alpine feel: look west at Helvellyn, England’s favourite mountain, east for the Pennines and south over Ullswater for Barton, Hallin and Place Fells.
You’ll find our camping and touring pitches on two fields.
The smaller field accommodates VW’s, roof tents and small motorhomes, and also houses our Glamping Cabins and Static Caravans. This field is closer to all the services and is perhaps the Quietest! There are no lake views from the majority of this field.
The larger field accommodates touring caravans, motorhomes, tents, roof tents and VW’s. It also houses our Glamping Burrows, Gingerbread Houses and Camping Pods.
Our all-weather camping pitches all have electric hook-ups. 10KWh (every 24 hours) of electric is included in the pitch fee. Excess electric used above this amount is charged at 30p/KWh.
Rock pegs may be required. These can be purchased or borrowed in our Zero Waste Shop.

Our all-weather camping pitches are designed for tents, small motorhomes, roof tents and VW’s. They have a pea gravel surface which is the perfect antidote to mud, yet the small round pea gravel is also kind to canvas. If you would like to borrow one of our groundsheets to put down under your tent please ask at reception.

Please not we do not accept gazebos.
Our fully serviced pitches can be booked for Caravans and Motorhomes.

We offer everything you need to enjoy a relaxing camping, touring or glamping holiday in the Lake District.
Guests are welcome to use the fridges, freezers, toaster, kettle and microwave found in our Camper’s Kitchen. Stands are available for disposable BBQs.
Small group bookings of up to two families/couples are only accepted after contacting the office. We reserve the right to decline a booking or charge a noise deposit.
Had a fabulous 2 night stay in a Hobbit hole last week. The site lives up to its name Quiet, went with my brother to just chill and we could there, no distractions, loud music just silence.

Our second stay here was as perfect as the first. Family of 3 staying in a Hobbit Hole. Great facilities, friendly staff, amazing views. Be sure to have a quiet pint in the quiet bar. You wont regret a visit to this beautiful site. We will definitely be back.
