We are one of the greenest holiday parks in Britain today.  We combine the latest technology with common sense to produce a sustainable energy mix so you can enjoy your holiday safe in the knowledge that we are taking care of our planet.

We generate >75% of our own energy on site completely sustainably and have removed LPG from our operation.

We have won both a Queens Award and a Kings Award for Innovation in Sustainable Development.

We have a wide selection of well insulated, sustainably heated holiday accommodation types to choose from: Glamping Cabins, Gingerbread Houses, Glamping Burrows, Camping Pods, Cottages and all weather serviced Pitches for Camping and Touring.   WiFi at 5Mb/s is freely available to all.

3. A Quiet Pint

Our bar is widely regarded as the Best Bar in Britain. It offers a warm welcome every night of the year, a huge log fire and excellent wines, spirits and ales at reasonable prices, plus there’s regular live music.

Our draught beer is all brewed just a few short miles from us by Tirril Brewery.

6. The best walks

One of the Lake District’s very best walks starts at The Quiet Site, the circular walk to  Aira Force Waterfalls.  Allow 4 to 5 hours to do this amazing trek with views you will never forget. Suitable for the whole family.  The amazing Ullswater Way also goes right past our entrance.

We have a fabulous off grid takeaway serving Crepes and Bacon Rolls in the morning and wood fired, stone baked Pizza every evening.  Plus there’s homemade soup, locally roasted coffee and home made cakes available through the day.
We serve everything on china so there’s no waste!

9. Activities for everyone

The Ullswater valley is packed full of activities for everyone: you can learn to paddleboard, sail, canoe, go wild swimming or ghyll scrambling, hire an ebike and cycle to the largest medieval parkland in England complete with its own castle.
You could go on an awesome cruise on boats that have been carrying passengers around Ullswater for 160 years..! Have a look out for England’s largest red deer herd,  go for a run or a walk… or just sit and contemplate life.
